Sunspot Drawings (2022 - present)

After a year of technical and material research, in the fall of 2022 I started work on a new and ongoing series of gouache and pencil drawings of sunspots by directly observing the sun’s surface through a telescope in my garden in South Orange, New Jersey.

Each drawing is annotated with supplementary texts and illustrations. What subject matter? Anything under the sun.
